Cleantech Estonia is flying to Kenya in September to share valuable knowledge on the development of the Estonian clean technology sector with local partners and establish lines of communication to facilitate cooperation between the two countries.
Project “Estonia-Kenya Twin Transition Ecosystem Building” aims to establish the building blocks for structuring Kenyan clean digital technology development, drawing on Estonia’s long-term experience. The goal is to strengthen the Kenyan network of technological development and make the exchange of information within the network and between Kenya and Estonia more systematic to foster further interaction and sustainable communication links with the Estonian ecosystem.
Cleantech Estonia’s CEO Kädi Ristkok believes that the project is also of significant importance to Estonian cleantech startups: “The goal is to map not only the current state of the Kenyan ecosystem of clean digital technologies but also the opportunities for Estonian companies in the market. Through this, we hope to contribute to the export of Estonian companies’ products and services to Africa.”
“Kenya Climate Innovation Center supports entrepreneurs and businesses from Kenya to address climate change. The project will help us gain a better understanding of the current state of the clean technology sector in Kenya and find opportunities as well as challenges and ways to overcome them,” says project partner Ernest Chitechi from Kenya Climate Innovation Center. “We’re thrilled about the opportunity to learn from the Estonian ecosystem and see the potential for long-term collaboration,” he adds.
Project partners will meet virtually and physically in Kenya and Estonia to get acquainted with the key players in each other’s ecosystems and share best practices. Cleantech Estonia is bringing its Kenyan partners to Tallinn, right into the heart of the year’s biggest cleantech events in the region - International Greentech Exposition NEXPO and Cleantech Forum Europe.

Cleantech Estonia supports Estonian cleantech startups and organizes various business development programs (hackathons, brainstorming days, accelerator programs, etc.)

Cleantech Estonia lendab septembris Keeniasse, et jagada Eesti rohetehnoloogia sektori arendamise teadmisi sealsete partneritega ja luua ühised kommunikatsioonikanalid edasise koostöö soodustamiseks kahe riigi vahel.
Projekti “Eesti-Keenia digi- ja rohepöörde ehk nn kaksikpöörde ökosüsteemi ehitamine” eesmärk on Eesti pikaajalise rohetehnoloogia ja digivaldkonna arendamise kogemuse põhjal luua alustalad digi- ja rohepöörde arendamiseks Keenias. Selleks tugevdatakse Keenia tehnoloogia arendamise võrgustiku toimimist ja muudetakse nii võrgustiku sisene kui ka Keenia ja Eesti vaheline infovahetus süsteemsemaks, et tagada seotud osapoolte püsiv ja efektiivne suhtlus.
Cleantech Estonia tegevjuhi Kädi Ristkoki sõnul on projekt märgilise tähtsusega ka meie cleantech iduettevõtete jaoks: “Projekti käigus kaardistatakse lisaks Keenia digi-rohetehnoloogia arenduse hetkeseisule ka Eesti ettevõtete tugevustest lähtuvad võimalused sellel turul. Loodetavasti aitab see kaasa nii mõnegi Eesti ettevõtte toote või teenuse ekspordile Aafrikasse.”
“Kliimainnovatsioonikeskuses oleme spetsialiseerunud Keeniast pärit ettevõtjate ja ettevõtete toetamisele kliimamuutustega tegelemisel. Projekt aitab meil saavutada parema arusaama praegusest rohetehnoloogia sektori olukorrast Keenias ning tuua esile võimalused aga ka väljakutsed ja viisid nende ületamiseks,” sõnab projektipartner Ernest Chitechi Keenia kliimainnovatsioonikeskusest (Kenya Climate Innovation Center). “Oleme väga põnevil võimalusest õppida Eesti rohe- ja digitehnoloogia sektori eduloost ja näeme, et projektist võiks kujuneda ka pikaaegsem koostöö,” lisab Chitechi.
Projektipartnerid kohtuvad nii virtuaalselt kui füüsiliselt Keenias ja Eestis, et tutvuda võtmeosalistega ja jagada parimaid praktikaid. Cleantech Estonia toob Keenia partnerid otse aasta rohetehnoloogia suursündmuste keskele. Tallinn Greentech Week raames külastatakse novembris maailmatasemel rohetehnoloogiate messi NEXPO ja Euroopa rohetehnoloogia foorumit.

Cleantech Estonia toetab Eesti rohetehnoloogia iduettevõtteid ja korraldab rohevaldkonna erinevaid äriarendus programme (häkatone, ideepäevakuid, ärikiirendeid jms).
